The Boston Celtics finished Game 2 at Madison Square Garden without a single field goal in the final 9:15 of the game, missing their last 13 shots. Still wondering which team won the game? The New York Knicks responded to Boston’s inspired play in the 1st half by blitzing them from start to finish in the second. A 10-2 run forced Doc Rivers to call a quick 3rd quarter timeout, but he couldn’t stop the onslaught. There was an avalanche of energy and passion at MSG, and it crashed down on the Celtics for 24 straight minutes. The Final score was 87-71. Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points in the game, on 10-24 shooting. J.R. Smith scored 19 after accepting his Sixth Man of the Year award, while Raymond Felton added 16. Kenyon Martin again played big second half minutes in favor of Tyson Chandler. Mike Woodson re-inserted Pablo Prigioni into the starting lineup for Chris Copeland. The smaller lineup definitely did the trick in this one. The ball and player movement by the home team was impressive.
